Rotella T may be a good oil for the warmer climate you live in, but with a -13 pour point it should be avoided in a climate that sees sub zero winter temps. FYI if you plan to travel to the snow (I don't know why you'd want to leave the sunshine) for the winter you may opt for a different oil.

I used Rotella all winter with no problems. I have used Rotella from day one, and so have a lot of guys with several hundred thaousand miles on. Don't worry about using Rotella.

LSMITH,
I was not implying Rotella is a bad oil. I used it at first too. What I noticed was the truck was considerably louder, and oil pressure took longer to come up, from a cold start than other oils. This was the case even with the truck plugged in. The Valvoline PB that I have in the truck now is noticably quiter than the Rotella, and the oil pressure seems to come up a touch faster. JMO

Rotella T is just fine. However, I have found through experience and several member posts that Rotella equals smella alot longer than some of the other options. I've been using Delo 400 and only have the smell for about the first 100 or so miles compared to the previous Rotella change that stunk for several hundred miles before I felt safe rolling down the window again :p
