I was trying to take an oil sample this morning I have a pump that I got from Amsoil. I'm using a sample kit from Blackstone Labs. I know these's enough hose from the pump to go thru the dipstick and down to the pan. and there's oil in the pan because it shows on the dipstick. It won't pump out oil to the bottle. 1. is the Amsoil pump and the Blackstone bottle not compatible? it does sound like it maybe is just sucking air. 2. Or does it maybe just need to drain back into the oil pan more? I did take and oil sample with this pump and an Amsoil kit when I first got them and it worked just fine.

Thanks

Well lot's of views on my post but no comments. A little change I don't think it's a issue with the bottle when I put my finger over tube it the has suction so has anyone had issues with and obstruction in the dipstick tube? The small tube that goes into dipstick stops and can't be pushed in any further. And there's only trace amount of oil on the end of the tube.

First off I have no experience with the pump you are referencing.
From your description I would guess that the hose is hanging up / butting where the tube is flanged into the block.
If the hose is cut square on the end maybe using a utility knife to angle the end would allow it to slip past the flange and not bottom out.
Maybe the plastic has swelled a little after being used initially and exposed to the oil, therefore not passing the flange this time.
