Can anyone tell me what to do about the oil smell you have in the cab, after an oil change? When the truck is at idle and the fan/heater/ac is on, it smells like oil (or something similiar). It has happened to me when the dealer changed my oil and both times I have. However, it will go away after time and become very minimal? I have checked for drips or spillage and noticed none that might cause this.

Does this have something to do with a vent tube somewhere?

I also still have oil at the bottom of my flywheel cover. I've wiped it off twice now. Anyone had this issue? I may take it to the dealer and have them note the problem. Not sure I really want them to touch it though. Poor experiences with them so far, but the sales staff is good.

Thanks,

Dave

It is the oil addatives that you smell. It is a diesel thing. Totaly normal. Some oil smells more than others. Rotella is one of the worest. It is fumes from the vent so relocating the vent will help.

Relocating the vent???

How best can I do this? Where is the vent I need to relocate?

thanks for the info:) I may switch from Rotella next time.
