Thanks, TDR Staff

Only in California!

I've seen it ALL now..wow~

A recent thread, which I can't find, discussed stocking up on oil before it is changed because of the new "low emission" engines.

Is this the current CI-4 plus that is on the shelves?

I've used this oil the last 2 changes.....

There will be nothing wrong with the new oil coming out (CJ rated) it will be backward compatible just like any oil on the shelf. It will more than likely be better for your engine then the stuff your using now.

The new oil is supposed to be better

I remember reading about the new CI-4 oil in one of the recent diesel magazines. I recall the new low ash oil has even better wear characteristics. Someone else should chime in here because I may not know from which I speak. Just my 2 cents

Thats not what the aforementioned thead lead one to think... . several chimed in on different problems the new oil will have with older engines.

These diesel forums never cease to amaze me. Some one starts a thread about something that they assume could be harmful and before you know it's gospel truth.

Go to the oil manufacturers websites and look up the truth. Oh yah, I forget, they are all in a conspiracy.
