Oil Temp. Sender placement

I am looking at putting a engine oil temp. gauge in the second empty slot on my A-pillar mount. My question is where is a good place to put the sender. The easiest and most obvious is at the top of the oil filter bracket. Looks like a 1/4"NPT. Will this location result in a accurate reading of engine oil temp.

I think that should be a 1/8NPT thread on there. You'll need a 1/4-1/8 adaptor or a new sender.

According to Cummins, the second port on the oil filter bracket IS the best location. It is a 1/8" NPT.
