My dog has about 200,000 miles on it now and I thought I might post the results from the latest oil analysis.
The oil is amsoil 15/40 diesel and I do use a dual by-pass filter from them as well.
aluminum 3
chromium 2
iron 18
copper 1
lead 3
tin 0
molybdemum 1
nickel 0
manganese 0
silver 0
titanium 0
vanadium 0
boron 34
silicon 3
sodium 1
calcium 3238
magnesium 9
phosphorus 961
zinc 1143
barium 0
viscosity @ 210 was 69. 0
flashpoint was 410 degrees
fuel was 0. 5%
antifreeze was 0
water was 0
insolubles were 0. 4%
the oil had 7000 miles on it and they said it could have stayed in longer.
I am hard on this truck all the time... very hard.
Also, I use a K&N re-0880 cone style filter w/prefilter.
My silicon was very low and it shows the filter is working very well.
One last thought, the engine has never had synthectic oil in it before. I always used shell Rotella T. I did not flush the engine prior to filling with amsoil.
