Where do I find the date of production for Delo 400 LE?

date doesn't matter much. long as it's a spec called for in the engine. shake the jug, and use with confidence.
Else it might be stamped on the bottom of the bottle.

I was told that it starts to degrade after 5 years. Should I just use a synthetic or synthetic mix?

use whats on sale, and meets the spec for the engine. what truck? the newer ones require 10/30 or 5/40, you cant use 15/40 on them.
if the older engine. they are not hard on oil at all. and if you plan to change it when it should be, then use what's on sale, and save money. T6 is a great oil and is affordable. but i usually use whats on sale. and most of the time it's travellers or supoertech.
