Switching to synthetic oil over weekend. Plan on using Royal Purple 15-40wt

unless there are reasons not to. Not trying to start a war, but do not want to hurt engine. tks in advance.

RP is highly respected. There's no question it's a good oil-- the only debate around here usually seems to be cost/benefit disputes.



If you have the money, why not?

Go for it. It is good stuff. I use the ATF and the Gear Oil as well. Royal with cheese... .

Mobile 1 SUV&Truck Synthetic (PAO) is 5W-40. The 5W will flow better at startup where most of the wear occurs. Only reason I chose it over one of the PAO 15W-40.

I have been running it for the past 15k and like it. It stinks for the first 1k, but after that it is fine. I actually have their fluids everywhere!! Good stuff!!
