Has anyone retrofitted a cloth power seat?

The dealer recommeds that I use synthetic oil in the new dodge. Does anyone have any recommendations about which oil might be better? Where I can get it and the cost? Thanks

If your truck is new i would not put syntetic in until at least 10,000 miles so it has a chance to break in properly. If you never tow i would recomend even more miles before switching to synthetic. Regard, Ron

Your dealer sounds like they know their stuff.

Mobil Delvac
Amsoil
Royal Purple
Red Line

Just to name a few top quality synthetics. Search the Archives under 'Oil. There will be hours of reading.

Put a few miles on your truck, like Ron said before you switch.

Mobil Delvac 1 Gooood.
Mobil 1 Baaaaad.
Others named goooood too.
What I'm saying is, I'm a big fan of synthetics, but they do not all carry the proper ratings for the Cummins Diesel; many like the Mobil 1 are optimized for gassers so even though the Mobil 1 has an excellent reputation, it is not for us.

I think the ballpark cost was $25 to $27 per gallon. I've seen it at a few truck stops; so if you are fuelling up you might look. Apparently some Canadian WalMarts have it, but most in U. S. do not. My best answer: Call a local oil distributorship (look under "Oil Marketers" in the Yellow pages)and have them order it if they don't already have it in stock. That's what I had to do. These guys aren't used to dealing with "one truck" retail customers, but most are pretty friendly and will help get what you need.

This is really a "products" question, so I'm moving this thread over to that forum.

Thanks

Mark

I found the distributor for Mobil products in Billings, MT. I get a good deal from him. Much better than any truck stop. Look around. Check the phone book. Find the distributor for your area. My last order for Delvac 1 was $19. 20 gal.

I buy Delvac 1 by the case (4gal/case) from a Mobil distributer in the St. Louis, MO area for $18. 95/gal. This is the best price I've seen.

I'm able to pick it up on-site so don't have to pay any shipping. Look in your Yellow Pages for oil distributers in your area.
