Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
My truck is a 2000 2wd long box, pretty much stock as I disabled the Torq-Loc and the ex. brake. Plan to remove them soon. I can't imagine that this would have anything to do with my stated problem.
BTW I went back and re-connected the batteries and the problem still exists. Wouldn't that have been nice and easy??!!
