Breaking News! Diesel drops bookoo!

hub setup is worth considering???? I mean I know it's pretty $$$$ - but will it save anything -- or just like maybe a tenth of a MPG - I wonder if there is any real data or just our gut feeling?? I mean it would be nice to actually run a rig - spend the $$$ convert it and run again - that would tell us the result - then again it may be so small you won't be able to notice..... thoughts???

Also - I lost the company name - I guess I'll have to search my back TDR mags... . but just in case - has anybody done this????? I have over 300,000 on my rig now - and I plan on keeping it forever - so any $$ I put into it - I'll be enjoying... ... I also understand this setup eliminates the vacuum engagement and you get a better front bearing assembly - BUT hey mine has went 300,000 with NO Maintenance - how can you improve on that???? I remember the old hub setup that you were always screwing with them... .

Yes, going to the dynatrac or EMS hub kits will definitely help. I have not done it myself but I have read several threads on here by others who do report a mileage benefit. The mileage benefit will vary considerably depending on whether you have a truck with the CAD or one without.

Regarding the payback time, I think that you need to consider the price of bearings as well as any mpg benefits. If I needed to redo my front end, I could go with one of those kits for only $5-700 more than the stock components. If you look at it this way, the payback period is much shorter. It would be hard to get real numbers because there are too many variables but the conversion makes even more sense if you need to do work up there anyways.

if you're in need of new hubs, it's not that much more, and if you plan on keeping the truck for a while, it WILL pay for itself.

the drivability improvement is hard to put a price on!!!
