CIPA has those extendable mirrors that fit the 2nd Gen trucks. Geno's carrys them. Do you suppose that you could replace the vent window glass with a piece of metal plate, then adapt the mirror bracket to work with it?

OK. If that's too far fetched, can the power mirrors be used with the tripod bracket towing mirrors?

Do I have too much time on my hands?

I think you have too much time on your hands. :D What's wrong with the flip out towing mirrors, other than they arent power? I think you ought to be able to work something out to put the power mirrors on the flip out bracket- though after running the bigger glass for 3 years, I hate the tiny power mirrors.

Nope. I think that "what if I did - - - -" is a characteristic of first genners. Especially those who are on the road with their truck a lot. In fact that is when my mind comes up with some really off the wall ideas. The miles I have been putting on lately, I have turned to solving the problems of the universe. Black holes, Anti matter, parallel universes, flying saucers. Better stop on that. The guys with the white suits will be comming to get me.

If you come up with a mirror soultion, I would want to hear about it. The mirrors whether the little power job or the larger (but still too small) tripod mounts are not enough for good visibility on the road. I think I remember that you have full size boxes on your truck. That makes really good mirrors a very desirable item. I had better mirrors on my 70 model Ford one ton. I have been thinking about "what if I put them on my 93" There is extra highth and consequently better visibility. I think about the extra wind drag and noise but I really would like to see better to the rear.
