Ok, Let Me Get This Straight

So you can remove the spring around the ecentric and it will have no ill effects. What I can expect is full fuel at any given time and lots more smoke if I am not easy on the pedal. Is this a correct assumption?

I wouldn't go that far. Given that the pump, injectors, etc. are all good you can generate a SEDC without much trouble. Just remember that much fuel without boost is gonna create some heat and soot in the engine. It looks like Scott has a pump problem as he can't make much smoke. With a good pump, stock injectors, and about 1. 5 turns on the full power screw I make the road dissappear behind me without removing the AFC spring.
