Well guys, its like this... I've had my house clipped of personal property. . Twice.

Now, the last straw. . someone stole my Ram hood ornament for the third and final time. (Yes I have an alarm. )

Hypothetically speaking of course, would anyone be willing to share a simple (and shocking) way to connect the thing to, say, an ignition coil with mercury switch or some such thing in order to make taking it again a costly mistake??? I'm not a rocket scientist with electricity/circuits etc, but I can get by with basic stuff. If you've got any suggestions I'd REALLY love to hear em, detailed descriptions always appreciated.

Perhaps something that is activated when I activate the disabler alarm, or maybe by switch affecting only the ornament.

I'm not looking for long term damage here but enough is enough, ya know!

At $50. 00 a piece, and the hood damage to boot I'm desperate.

Thanks for any help.

I would think that you could come up with a switch that would trigger when it was removed. Or you could try the old . 50 cal automatically laser sighted anti-theft deterant. I agree. I can't stand a thief.

I agree fastmark, I like the last option alot. . but John Law takes a dim view of it. In this case 3 strikes and your OUT!

I'd like to (Hypothetically of course) see this stop once and for all though. You can beat my dog, shoot my cat, eat my parrot, BUT Don't Diddle With My DODGE!!

I'd like a "lay em on their back" option.

BTW, you made me smile fastmark, thanks!

Theft Resistant Ram Hoodpiece

I had the same problem with my previous truck. What I did was to remove the spring thats under the base and replace it with a 3/8 stainless bolt. This required drilling and tapping the bottom of the ram, not hard it's only plastic. I think that the head of the bolt had to be thinned down to clear the hood.
