A Big Question!

Running full time on homebrew biodiesel?

The price is manipulated - some by OPEC, some by the oil companies here.

How can the oil companies manipulate the price? Simply by using supply and demand! It is well know that one of the largest reasons that fuel prices are being driven up by the limited refining capacity that we have now. We can blame Clinton and the enviros for that (in part) since there were many refineries that closed during the 90's. The oil companies are using this to their advantage. Even though they are making HUGE, record breaking profits, they are not building new refineries, while demand continues to increase in the US, and with China modernizing and building new car production plants, demand is only going to keep going up until people cannot afford to buy more fuel than what it takes to get to work. Pretty much everything we use in life comes from oil in some fashion, then it takes oil to get it to market, then we use oil to go get it. If oil keeps going up, our economy will go down in flames - only because of a few company execs GREED. #@$%!

I know a free market economy is driven by supply and demand, but when oil is a major component of all industry, it becomes scary at how much power oil companies have over the world economy.

Yes, I am bitter - every time I go to fill my truck, and I would still be bitter even if I was filling up a small car

keep it going

All it has to do is go a little higher and I'll start making Bio-D in the garage. It has been high all summer long even with out using crude for heating oil. Then winter got here.

I do remember vary well fuel prices hit record lows under clinton. Bush is from oil country. Maybe his pockets are full of oil. Or maybe his buddies have the oily pockets.

Just so I never voted for either of em.

In this state they are talking about more fuel taxes. They can take that idea and stick it.

OFitzgerald,

guess your not headed south. They are testing down in hippie land (Eugene, OR) now for just that type of Qurap!
