A few days ago I posted a thread called "engine will not crank". A few members replied and I thank you.
BUT!! We worked on it last night, and tonight. We pulled all of the plugs and checked them, we tested everything, we even pulled the underhood fuse box and checked it. I mean, we went over everything,,, twice. To no avail. Now the windows stoped working and so did the heater blower!! Major bummer
Now I'm sure some of you know, fuses do not fix themselfs, RIGHT?
After checking the fuses again I noticed the engine 1 fuse was too small amperage and moved the right one in it's place. Turned the key on and OORAAH! the windows and blower worked. But alas, the starter did not. That was when my friend informed me I had forgot to hook up the neutral safty switch--DOH!
I hitched it up and RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE. Pure symphony sound
Now here is the freaky part. when you pulled the fuse and turned it upside down to check it, it would read OK. But when you turned it rightside up to install it, it would loose contact. And you cannot check it when it is installed. See the problem?
How we found it was we put it in the slot for the E flashers. And when we tried to turn them on they wouldn't work. But as we were looking under the hood my friend bumped the fuse block and the flashers started flashing. HUH? WHAT?
Tapping the fuse caused it to make a small flash INSIDE the fuse. The fuse wasn't burned, it was broken. But it would fix itself. OH MAN, I need a beer.
