Here I am

OK, What does WOT mean?

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

You might be a Power Wagon owner if....

What happened to Bonnieville

I've been using TDR for over 6 months now and I still can't figure out what WOT means?

Please enlighten a confused individual? (Or maybe a dozen who are afraid to ask  )

Thanx

Back in the hardcore dirt bike racing days it was "WFO to the first turn". Dont miss hurting myself, but I do miss the rush of WOT throught the trees and woods on a Open Class 2 stroke. Thank god for diesel trucks. My new fix.

In my profession of EH&S (environmental Health and Safety) we have more abbreviations thatn I can keep track of. So I started a list about 5 years ago. The list is now over 130 pages. Sad thing is that with about 3 job changes, the abbreviations are different from company to company. I cnaq't assume I know what an abbreviation stands for. Does anyone else run into this at work? I hope so, I wouldn't want to hog all of the fun. Kind of remminds me of the scene in Goodmorning Vietnam.

Pretty interesting what all these fat fingers will do to keep from typing out whole sentences, don't you think Mactruck?

I don't think anyone uses more, or more confusing abbreveiations that the military. After you name all the organizations, job descriptions, and such they have one for just about everything you touch doing your job:eek:

Diesel only operate at WOT

The abbreviation WOT really only applies to gassers. One of the reasons that diesels get better fuel economy is that we always operate at WOT. No choke/throttle/butterfly valve in our engine intake system. We save that for the exhaust?

Now fuel control is another story...

FWIW

edit: I used to work at Boeing. They have an acronym/abbreviation in the intranet website to help you through the confusion.

They even have abbreviations for the abbreviations. . .

Sometimes the military comes up with some beauts! Just before the war they created the post of Comander in Chief, U. S. Fleet which was abbreviated as CINCUS, or "sink us". They changed that one.

They call it "Navy speak" where i am. EVERYTHING has some huge abbreviation. The base i drill at sometimes is called "Navmarcorrescen Wilmington" THATS A WORD!.

Pronounced Nav-mar-core-essen.

Which is the abbreviation for Naval And Marine Corps Reserve Center Wilmington. That is one of many annoying words we have to know how to pronounce and SPELL.
