Ok I tried with another thread to ask what people think is a good combination. I will be towing a 16 ft enclosed landscaping trailer and maybe even a 26 to 29 ft travel trailer. I have an '01 with an auto transmission and 3. 55's. I'm currently running BFG A/T's sz 285 with the want and availability to move to 17" rims with H2 BFG's. I am trying to decide between the Banks Big Hoss and a 4" stainless monster exhaust or an Edge EZ with the same exhaust. I have the money to do a comp and an exhaust right now. I will add an AFE later when more money comes in. Any and all thoughts are welcomed. Since I'm new to the Bombing thing what is the BHAF?

ThanksOo.

I don't know so much about the Banks outfit, but I've experience with both the Edge EZ and the Comp. I currently have the Comp and love it.

I'd make the Filter modification first. To get the potential out of the boxes, and to keep EGT's down the filter will help. If you don't plan on upgrading you Clutch, or transmission, (manual or auto). I'd go with the EZ. You can find the EZ less than $500 and it's a great Working box. You don't have to worry bout EGT's and Drivetrain stuff.

BUT . . . Once you get the EZ installed and feel the power you'll notice a change. You'll want MORE, MORE, MORE!!!:D

If you stay with an Edge EZ you will probably be OK with your stock transmission. I did slip mine towing my old 27' travel trailer. Anything more than that and you will have to dump some money into the trans.

BHAF = Big Honkin Air Filter

I would stick with the EZ unless you want to do transmission mods soon. The other thing I would do is skip the SS exhaust and go for a regular coated steel exhaust system. There where a couple of threads not too long ago about rusty Banks SS exhaust systems. I have an aluminized steel 4" system and I live in Alaska where they salt the roads in the summer just to get ready for winter... and have NO rust on it. Heck my drive shaft is has more rust on it than my exhaust.

Happy Bombing and remember if you don't have gauges get them first. Boost/EGT and Fuel Pressure are very important.

I know nothing about Banks but from what I hear, they are pricey for the power you get. (More bang for the buck with edge) but check for yourself.

Go with the comp and start with it on ez mode (don't tap the pump wire) then if you want more power you can always tap the wire. (would be cheaper that buying an ez then deciding to upgrade). I have my comp on ez mode but don't know how much longer I can hold out. (Probably till I scrape together 900 for a SB ofe. )

Ditto the Banks comments, quite pricey for the power by my own research. I chose to go the Comp route without tapping the pump wire. That lasted less than a month. . Now I have a clutch, injectors and turbo en route!

I recently installed the Banks Stinger (80 horse 200 lb torque)

and love it, however now my auto trans looks like it may need work. It shuddered mildly pulling my 10k toy uphill at 60mph.

Yeah the new box is boasting 70hp and 180 lb-ft of torque all this without tapping the fuel wire. I have a little inside help on cost and it is about $50 cheaper than the Edge retail and even less than that at my cost. If not a Banks ss exhaust what would you guys suggest? Seems like the Jardine system has a lot of followers but I can't find a website or more info. Thnaks for all the help. And yes I do already have the Banks guages just need sending units.
