Well after a six month period of owning this truck and being disappointed with the power output, I installed a Power Edge fueling box that I bought off a fellow member here, last night with the HOT 3rd setting and all I can say is

:--)

I am CONVINCED!!!!!!

Anyhow this thing blows through the convertor even on the first setting in overdrive and on the 3rd HOT setting even in first gear the convertor flashes over 3000 rpm... . just garbage.

So question of the day, WHO WHAT AND WHERE for convertors?

Also, I haven't added the Trans Go valve body kit yet... that's in my sig.

Thanks

Chris

I don’t know what transmission upgrade is the best, passions run high on this subject. Since I haven’t tried all the transmission upgrades available, I am not qualified to rate these upgrade products. In my limited experience, Bill has always taken the time to explain things. What he told me is what he did. In my case, he spent the time to set my expectations to a certain level and then met it. He has a lot of loyal customers and deserves the good reputation he has earned. It doesn’t mean that DTT is the best. If you’re a betting person, you consider the odds. I thought my best odds to being satisfied were with DTT. (I don’t think ATS was doing the upgrades when I put my deposit for the DTT upgrade in May, 2001, so I didn’t compare them at the time - correct me if I’m wrong on that one). I would follow Jetpilot’s advice and at least call Bill. Search the TDR and you will be reading for days (or more). Get your facts together and then make a decision. Then you will know you did the best you could. You can’t do better than that.

If you don't want to "blow through you torque converter" than get the DTT converter... ... the fluid coupling is awesome.

Oh, no, another transmission thread:-{}

I am still stock and will probably go with the DTT set up.

Drive a few different trucks if possible.

DRIVING IS BELIEVING!!!!:D

You guys on the fence need to post your location, I love the look I get when someone that drives a stock truck gets in my DTT setup and just shifts into drive. I still remember when I first did it, almost brings tears to my eyes to think about it! :{ I can not compare the DTT setup to the others, never driven them, but I will say that the DTT setup is great. :D

How much do I have faith that DTT's transmission is the best way to go?Well, I paid $420. 00 for a tow bill from Sacramento to Redding to get my DTT transmission rather than have a local co. rebuild it. I am totally blown away by the performance now.

Chris, you need to call DTT and ATS,then make your choice. YOu already know what its like to pull thru a TC,well i can tell you im creeping up on 500HP,and you wont find a better TC to trans fer torque than the DTT,in or out of lockup ,it just puts the power to the ground. The ATS crowd seems to be happy with there trans choices. Do it once,do it right.

I have had a DTT TC in my 96 for about 2. 5 years. It took some getting used to but I tow 13,000 lb 5th wheel. 25,000 miles up and down East Coast including 5 trips up and down Great Smokey Nat Park roads. If you been there you know-102 turns over 90 degrees going up or down. TC has not skipped a beat and I'm around 325 hp. :D

I think you need a valve body and a TC. I personally have DTT and have never had any problems. I really like it and I think DTT has the best customer service I have ever had from anyone.

Do some research and pick what you think is best... that is what I did at the time and I am very happy. See sig for mods.
