There has been some discussion about safely changing a tire on the side of the road. An old timer introduced me years ago to a simple, quick and easy way to change a tire without the danger of crawling under a towed unit.
I call it the "Oklahoma Trailer Jack".
I carry a piece of 2x4 and a block of 4x4. Lay the 2x4 on the block of 4x4 to use as a ramp. Pull the good tire up on the blocks thus suspending the afflicted tire just high enough to change it.
It is safe, quick and easy without having to crawl under the trailer to see what is under there that might bite you.
