All of the old archives/posts/threads that were available have been imported into the forums. There may be some duplication as it looks like there were a few months of overlap. Also there seems to be some missing data since there were no posts listed in the 24v forum or a couple of others. I imported everything that I could get my hands on.

Unforetunately in the previous imports the user id numbers were not kept consistent - therefore I had to import all the old threads/posts under one username "Archive" instead of having inaccurate user ids. You won't be able to tell who originated the old messages (over a year and a half old) unless they put a signature on their post. Unforetunately this was the best I could do unless we had someone sit down and hand match up the old user id's to the new ones - that's ~12,000 id's!! That just didn't make sense financially since the most important thing was the data - so I just imported everything under the one username "Archive".

I'm still in the process of reindexing and updating all of the files so you may still see some errors over the next few hours but by morning everything should be completely up and running. I stayed up late (4:10 am right now) to get this done at a time when the usage on the site was at the lowest.

BTW, I am aware that the stats at the top of the forum page now show "Archive" as the top poster - duh! I'll work on that tomorrow, too tired to deal with it tonight - still sitting here baby sitting the reindex at 4:40 am!

Admin... ... ... would what you did cause someone to lose 20-30 posts???? Yesturday I was at just about 1000, now I'm in the 960's:eek: :{ Any clue?

Thanks

Excellent work Ken-I know you guys were taking a lot of heat during the transition to the new servers. Now it's time to take a well-deserved compliment! Even though sometimes we may all seem like a chronic bunch of whiners :D I'm sure everyone appreciates the work you have done to date!

Thanks again

Try losing a couple of thousands. I was 49xx or something?

I am guessing when he changed the old posts to user "archive" it took away from everyones post counts. Thats all I can think of.

The important thing to remember is now the old posts are back. . which contain some information that will someday help a user.

I'm just impressed with the amount of time and productity Ken has put in the last couple of weeks... . some nice features are now present.

Kat... ... I completely agree w/you and JHansen... ... ... they have put alot of work into the site. Looks alot better and works better also.

Couple thousand here also. I was getting close to clicking over 7k, now down to 4. 8. What's weird is if I search my old posts it says there are 5144 with no posts before 6/27/00

No big deal, getting the archives back is worth more than a number.

Just a quick update

The rebuilding of the index is still running as of 2:51 eastern time. At the rate it's going it probably won't be done until tomorrow morning, then I can look into the post count issue. The rebuild of the index has to be complete first and then I can do an update of the counts and hopefully that will take care of it. It is possible that it may be a bug in the re-count routine and if that's the case it may take some time to correct.

I've fixed the top poster and top thread starter at the top of the main forum page to not include the user Archive.

I lost only 500 posts. I worked long and hard with my slow pecking typing skills to get to 1000, only to be kicked half way back down the hill. :D

I am depressed.

Post number craving could lead to a new classification of the lunatic. :D
