old diesel fuel

I just scrapped an old chevy 6. 2L that has 2 pretty full tanks. The stuff inside smells like diesel, looks like diesel, and makes a mess on the floor like diesel. They truck sat for at least one year though with no caps on the tanks and has been contaminated with water, sand, etc. Is it worth trying to filter and use at all? I'm thinking that's it's a nasty headache waiting to happen and I should just leave it alone.

That would be the best bet, you are looking at one big headache if you use that stuff, Monte

Use it on a brush pile or something but don't put it in a fuel system of any kind unless you like extra work.

Get a Mr. Heater and use the old diesel fuel instead of kerosene during the winter quality time you spend with your Ram!

good parts cleaner. thin down used oil and coat your frame

I had a fuel oil furnace in my garage at my last house. I burned a ton of nasty old stuff through it over the years. Had to change the filter on the tank sometimes twice a year, but it was worth it.
