Old gas station signage

I have most of the printed IH parts manuals current to the mid 70’s. From Scouts right up to the M Series.
I need to list them on Binder Planet or something similar.
I wish I had all the technical specs and sale literature that got canned back in the 80s...

I’m saving this post for the next time Jackie says “ What are you saving that junk for” .

About the only vintage thing I saved was the first portable transistor radio that still works. Gave it to my daughter.

I still have the Americana 3 transistor radio that my grandmother gave me in 1963 (?) and the kodak instamatic 100 camera she gave me right around that time. Radio still works, but I wish I could find a non metalic screw driver so I could tune it a little.

Well it's kinda-sorta service station signage.
Here are some pre-GPS items we used when navigating the roadways in the "olden days". The glove boxes actually had necessary stuff, like these maps, stuffed into them. Yes, we had to do all the work in plotting the routes, figuring driving times and mileages, dodging detours, locating service stations, munchie houses, motels and everything else. Oh yeah, and the Interstate highways were nowhere near being completed. Lots and lots of construction. They had a lot of details included on the maps, and they were free at fine service stations nationwide. I think I had to pay a couple Deutsche Marks for the Nederland map though.

I couldn't find the "American" ESSO road maps or the tiger tail that you would attach to the fuel fill door - Esso's put a tiger in your tank promotion ads, or Union 76 antenna balls. I think they dissipate after four to six decades.

Yeah, we didn't have books like Map Folding For Dummies back then. It was a learned skill...lots of experience...some of it very "creative"...like my wife's favorite, the ball of paper fold. Any fold other than the original folds created additional mystery paths to follow,,,Turn left here??? What road dear?

Moving to Connecticut in the early 70's from Ca, I always thought the fuel came out of the same bulk tank...lol Kinda cool set up though

Sure do. There was a Sunoco down the road, and the owner had a beautiful Pitts Special painted Sunoco colors.
