Mike:
I've just poured thru my Cummins "Injection Pumps and Injectors" Applications manual and could not locate that injector number. the manual was printed in '97, and appears to be not the latest for the 2nd gen. "killer B" engines.
At the least, a call to "my man" at Cummins MetroPower is in order. Got to get the latest apps. manual.
I've scanned the supersceded section, and no matching numbers either.
The original engine (CPL 2023) should have been built between 1/1/95 and 1/1/96. Then the CPL (after 1/1/96) was 2175.
The factory base timing was set at 12. 5 deg. BTDC, 4. 9 mm plunger lift. If you decide to advance the timing to 15 deg BTDC, the plunger lift would be 5. 4 mm.
The -dx after the Cummins injector number designates Cummins remanufactured and tested injectors.
Hope this helps some.

'98 2500, Cummins 12v, 5spd, 4wd, 3. 55, 300 injectors, JRE III power kit, 4" turbo to tail system, boost/pyro, did I mention 12 valves? GOT DIESEL?

Old School, You DA MAN !! Thanks for the info. Overall thoughts on this is under my orig. Post. Temp seems to be a bit high. 1/2 way. Even after a clean radiator. It has to go back tomorrow am to replace the leaking heater core. And I'll ask if they used a new thermostat. After sitting while I was picking up my repaired laptop <10 min max> I got a huge plume of black smoke just in 1st gear. Then it was gone. No other visable smoke at any other time. Going on the dyno tomorrow as well. Very impressed with the power in 3,4,& 5th gear. EGT's is normal. Overall pretty impressed with it. Just need to get the minor stuff fixed. Pulling a load will tell for sure. Thanks again, You DA MAN ! Mike

Mike: I'm going to scope out the data available for the "later" B's. i'll post my results.
I'm imagining you're feeling out the P pump motor now, as I have when I aquired the '98, after having my '92 for a few miles, and "STOKING" it up. Nice response from the pump, eh?
Gotta love those 12 valves.
