I got the correct aFe filter, and all the parts that Mike gave me, but there needs to be some kind of rigid section so the hose can bolt to the filter.

How do I get the hose attached to the filter? The only thing Rob and I could think of is a piece of 4 1/2" pipe...

Any ideas?

I got the LAST ONE!!! Mike isn't makin' 'em any more.

Ah grasshopper - a 4" schedule 80 pvc pipe works great. I can make one and send it to you - got the stuff in the garage. I can show you how I adapted a K&N then a Green High Performance air filter to Mikes mount. Oo. Oo.

Well what can we do if we want one of those BHAF? Is the air filter just a bigger fleetguard air filter that can still be bought (part #), but not his mount? Any other options for better intake hose/filter setup? -Sams intake/KN air filter? others? Bill

Sam makes a very nice setup. You can also pretty easily make your own setup. A 45 rubber elbow, some 4" aluminum tubing and a filter held together by a few clamps.

fleetguard

:) Hey fellas, I run the fleetguard in the summer when its not raining much and I use the power to hual. I don't have a bhaf mount, but hang it under there with a piece of 5" aluminum kinda bent in a curve with a hole to catch a bolt on the fender inner lip. I hold the filter to it with some nylon wire ties for duct work. I also run a piece of alum flex dryer duct from the core support on the drivers side (about a 3"square hole) and dump it at the filter for forced fresh cool air to the air box. In the winter I use my cheesed box stock with K&N filter. Works for me. Runs cool! On yeah, I wrapped it with wire cloth to keep the rodents from using it for nesting material. Tim

Hey, Tim.

Sounds like I'm doing about the same as you. Rain never crossed my mind when I quit using the airbox... . until I wasn't getting much boost one rainy day.

I took some 12" aluminum roof flashing and made a rain guard that is currently attached to the fender lip inside the hood area. I just left the airbox lid so I'd have my hose attachment. I was in a hurry and didn't have anything but some heavy nylon cord to hold the filter in place.

Works for me, and I'm not entering any auto shows anytime soon.

HOLY CRAP!!! :D

I got the mount on today. I used the pipe, and I had to modify the mount to even fit right... but it was worth it!!! Man, between the open airbox and the aFe, this new turbo really sings!!!

Spoolup is GREATLY improved also.

3 THUMBS UP!!! Oo.

:D

Yeah, twins will rock. I plan on doing something a little different than anyone else though... I don't like how normal twins operate, so I will be doing something different.

You'll see when I get it all put together. ;)
