Old style big rig gear shift knobs

Anyone know where I could get one of those old big rig knobs/handles, I don't even know what they are referred to. It was those colorful straight handles, kinda looked like bicycle handles, with bright colors, I think there was even glitter in some ( I could do with out the glitter personally, and I would like to get an all black one, no girly see through colored ones). Not for my current truck ( I have a Bob V. already) but maybe for a truck in the future. I got to drive an old Bronco this weekend and it had a 4 speed with this handle, I remember a school bus I used to ride had a handle like this for an old 10 speed EF, it had the old style grey side mounted HI/LO switch. Thanks!

I know what your talking about but not sure where you could get them. Have you tryed a local truck stop?

Yes, check the truck stops or wrecking yards for big trucks. However the thread size will probably be hard to find to fit the Dodge.

Try Berubes.com. I put two on the old 96, one for the 5spd another for the 4wd. Most are threaded for a 1/2" bolt. I bought a couple of bolts, locktited them in the handle, cut the bolt off flush, drilled and tapped to fit our shifters. I think the shifters were a 8mm x 1. 25 but don't quote me on it. Don't forget a jamb nut and some loctite when finally mounting. The minor constant transmission vibrations sure did seem to loosen up the shift knob before a dab of locktite. Nothing like the handle coming off when making a much needed shift.

Thanks guys! TDR forum beats any search engine on the web hands down! I realized why these kinda went out, because all the newer big rig trans shifter used the EF style knobs with built in switches and splitters, so you weren't able to personalize your shifters as much as before. Thanks again for the help!
