Old Subject-Just Wondering

Just did my first oil change with finger touch plug from Geno's. Read about the oil left in the pan. I removed the finger touch and measured the remaining oil. 24 oz left in pan. Drilling the plug seems to be the resolve but when the plug is in the pan shouldn't the four holes in the pan line up with the holes drilled in the plug. I marked the position of the plug when it was screwed into the pan so I would have a reference point. If anyone can help me with info on this I would appreciate it. Love this Site!!!!

Slick, I have the Geno's plug but have not drilled it, but I did read that you do need the holes to line up or the holes will not do any good.
