Another company bites the dust in the wake of the enviro-nazis, or that's the rumor from the local boat show. The company (according to the web) is for sale if anyone is interested. Seems that with the change of enviro rules and the problems that were/are being encountered with the new Fitch system that they just through in the towel.

They've had some problems for awhile. I bought a brand new aluminum boat with an Evenrude 75 oil injection motor in '95. After it was out of warranty about a year the motor shelled #ad
(I believe it was about 3 years old and I maintained it about as meticulously as I do my Ram) I took it in and the OMC mechanic told me, "They had alot of problems with those older oil injection pumps. " I'm like #ad
"The motor is only 3 years old!" Then he tells me, "They've changed pump designes something like 5 times trying to work the bugs out. " I will give them this, I contacted OMC and they did pay for the parts but I had to pay for the labor of repairing it (still over a thousand bucks, though). I didn't complain as they could have just told me to take a hike.
