My friend just called me from the road on his way to upstate NY. His '99 is having a problem. His water in fuel, check engine lights and other gauges are freaking out. Oil pressure sometimes drops to zero and transmission isn't shifting normal. He is running an EZ box w/ injectors. He also feels like the truck has gone back to stock power. He can't clear the idiot lights and is concerned about driving it. Any ideas or suggestions besides removing the EZ which is what he will try next?:confused:

Thanks!

I would pull the EZ, and the battery for about half an hour. hopefully someone will chime in with the procedure to check for codes using the ignition.

Don't remember what they are but you turn the key on and off with out starting the truck. Leave it on the 3rd time and the codes will cycle through

Codes don't show up on '99

model trucks using the ignition key on-off 3 times cycle trick. DC only started doing this with the 2000 year models forward. Sorry to rain on your parade. :eek:

Has to be read using a scan tool. :{

Is your '94 OBDII? From everything I've seen posted on here concerning the OBDII trucks, that's every 24 valve, codes can't be read on the '98. 5's and '99's.

OBDII came out sometime in the early to mid '90's but I don't know if Dodge used it on the Cummins Rams until the electronic engines came out.

Well... . just wanted to let you all know that it was a bad connection on his EZ plug. Removed it and it was full of corrosion. Cleaned it all up and put some dielectric grease on it. All is OK:D :D
