Is it normal for a stock 3500

Cross-country fuel price guide for travelers

I tried to use dodge.com to get a price idea for a 2004 Dodge 3500 SRW Cummins HO with 6 speed transmission and could not get this site to give it to me. Anyone know another site I could use?

I drove a 2003 3500 cummins 5 speed this weekend and liked the truck, but was told that HO models should be available in California next month.

edumnds.com has invoice and MSRP pricing, but last time I looked, it had not been updated for the 04. 5, but there isn't much difference from the 04. 0. The SO and 5 speed are both history. HO + 48RE or HO + NV5600 are the only diesel options in all 50 states.

markroberts.com has on-line pricing info. Also check Dave Smith.

I've never had much luck with the official Dodge website. As mentioned here, they'll only give you the MSRP.

There's rumors that the HO will be available in California but all I've seen is an announcement from Dodge that the HO will be 50 states legal soon. That doesn't necessarily mean California though. We have our own set of emissions requirements (thanks to CARB: California Air Resources Board) and I still haven't seen anything official on the HO for California. I hope they give it the green light!

I drove the 3500 HO/6 speed SRW QuadCab Longbed at the Dodge dealer in Carson City, NV. and liked it a lot. The rack & pinion steering is a HUGE improvement over the previous setup, ride is also greatly improved, noise levels are way down, power is up. What's not to love?

Try carsdirect.com if you want to get a better idea of what they should be selling for.

This is probably a stupid question, but why don't you california folks go to nevada or oregon and buy your trucks--or don't you folks have the same rights as the rest of us Americans???? R, J. B.

We CAN buy cars/trucks out of state, getting them registered in California afterwards is the tricky part.

Hey JBONE- why do you think so many people live outside of CA?:D :D :D

Am going to the Auto club today to see if the 50 state truck might be easier to slip "between the bars".

If a vehicle is 50 states legal, how might it not be california legal? I would think if Dodge or any manufacture couldn't meet CARB, they would advertise 49 states legal.

This new truck with the 50 state motor, it wont make any difference where you buy it. Now paying the registration, thats a different story:{ Sarge

To be 50 states legal it has to meet Federal emissions requirements. California has emissions requirements that exceed the Federal level. I'm not saying I like the way California does things, that's just the facts. If I see the HO motor in a showroom in California I'll believe it, until then I'm just hoping for the best!
