I was checking codes and a new one popped up different from the usual ones. The code is P061A. "ECT Level 2 Torque Performance". Anyone familiar with what that has to do with?

ETC is electronic throttle control.

found this

" This algorithm monitors the control system to ensure that the fueling output is consistent based on the operating conditions. The ECM will light the ETC lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails. During this time the customer may experience an engine derate or engine running rough. The ECM will turn off the ETC lamp once the diagnostic passes in one drive cycle.

When Monitored: Engine running.
Set Condition: Varies with operation. Verifies the control system fueling output is consistent based on the operating conditions.

Possible Causes
SOFTWARE REVISION/TSBS or OTHER DTCS
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
EXHAUST MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR
INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR
INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR
BRAKE SWITCH
ENGINE OR FUEL MODIFICATIONS THAT EXCEED OEM SPECIFICATIONS
ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR

Harvey should chime in, he has a C&C also. Do you have all of the required computer flashes on you truck? Was the CEL or throttle control icon lit?

No, I have nothing to contribute to the discussion. My truck only has 105k miles on it, nothing compared to EB's.

EB, you may have a dealership close to your home you know and trust but if you don't, I suggest contacting Mike Mullenax, a TDR member although not visible. He is the lead and only diesel tech at Elder Dodge in Athens in East Texas.

Mike is knowledgeable and honest. I would trust him to properly diagnose and repair mine.

My truck has not been flashed since it had about 150k miles on it. It now has 347,000+. I believe I know what caused the problem. I picked up some bad fuel a while back and the engine started dying when I came to a stop or was running very slow. I have changed the fuel filters a number of times in the last 5-6000 miles. I believe there were a few times I put the truck in gear with the engine running much above idle at a red light to keep it from dying, one time the ect (lighting bolt) light came on. It went off after a few starts. Still have some bad fuel in it, changed the filter yesterday after 1000 miles and it was still pretty dark with crud between the folds. I can't have it flashed by Dodge because of the deletes I have on it. This is the first time I have had any problems in the last 200,000 miles and I believe it is all because of a tank full of bad fuel. I've been running Power Service in it trying to clear it up, it's been getting better but I believe it has a little more to go.
