I'm thinking hard on swapping both my CTD and the wifes vehicle over to Amsoil at the next scheduled oil change. Should the engines get flushed prior to swapping or will it be okay to just drain and add new oil?

How many miles on the engines?I switched my 03 over at 20000+and did not use any flush. Just changed the filters sooner.

Mileage

Larry, On my CTD I have 18,000 miles and on the wifes Trailblazer 10,500. New engines so I figure everything should be fine but was wondering what you guys think.

syn oi change

I have successfully changed over to synthetics in my wifes buick after it had 10,000. It now has 30k. I switched my jeep over at about 12k. It now has 41K. And I switched my Harley over to syn at 20,000. It now has 64,000. I didn't fluch any of them and had no problems. All of the manufacturers claim that their oil is compatible with dino and can be mixed.

I started running Mobil 1 in my Harley along time ago when many people said synthetic oil is bad for Harleys. Now the company advocates syn for HD.

I have switched over many vehicles to the Amsoisl synthetic oils, and you have more than enough miles for proper break-in. If you have been changing the oils in these vehicles on a regular 3 - 4 thousand mile basis, there is no need to use any engine flush. Just drain the oil when it is hot, and then install the Amsoil. These oils are fully compatible with other oils as well.
