It's a crying shame my truck doesn't steer well, and doesn't have extra heavy duty anti-sway bars and better shocks than the ones I have... because I love to keep the engine on the pipe in that magic 1500-1700 rpms where all the torque is while in overdrive. It's so responsive and seems to love the hills and corners.

Anyone ever take a 2wd version of our trucks, lower them and really work on the suspension and take them out for fun in the hills and twisties? Probably scare the hell out of sports car drivers.

Now if the truck only had a seven or eight speed transmission to help keep it on the pipe. What a hoot that would be.

Sorry about that. It's a term used to describe keeping two stroke motorcycle bikes revved to their power band.

I liken it to the mighty Cummins running at that sweet spot of rpms, boost, load and torque. It just feels like it wants to take off.

OK, I don't know what "the pipe" is.

I don't think you could ever overcome the understeer or lose enough weight to save the brakes. That said. A 2wd with sway bars can still push a lot of cars through the curves. :) Not because it's better, just because most people don't know how to drive what they have anyway.

Brakes just slow you down!

The steering is a big issue though. And all that weight up front sure can mess up the balance of everything.

But when that Cummins is in it's happy spot and exhaust is singing, and the turbo whistling, the twisties and hills beckon.

I suppose I could just park the truck for a while and take the Aprilia out instead. Naw.

look through the old diesel power mags. There was an article on a guy who built a road race cummins to enter the Silver State Classic
