Still livin at home here, but I do pay rent. It's a good deal... I get a place to park my truck (garage) and a help out a lot around the house. Great way to save up for a plot of land somewhere... Living in an apartment is just a waste of money, especially with the way rent is around here...
750/mo for 5 years gets expensive, and when you move out, you get zero back...
So I'll be happy here until I can afford to move out. Plus, my parents like the company!
Joined the service when I was 18 right out of high school. This was 1981. I'm still in. Had to, I was and am a horrible student! Haven't lived at home since. They should give classes on how to be a student!
I first moved out when I was 17 to go to school, but I was never fully out of the house until I finished five years later. I still had to wait a few months until I could convince my brother to move in with me so it was affordable. I was 23 when it happened less than a year ago.
Moved out, got married, left the state- 2 days after graduating from High School. Wasn't a soul in the world that thought it would last. That was nearly 14 years ago .
Damn straight on the free meals. My Mom's 70, Dad's 72. I have, and will forever miss all the 'rents' do for you. They're gett'in on and I'm bumm'in, especially since they're 3000 mile away...
Went 230 miles away to college at 17 taking what was left of the umbilical cord with me. Went to basic training two year later and the cord was gone. Great parents, no regrets. Joe
I was 17 in Southern Cal. I moved to Spokane with everything I owned in my Hot Rod 54 Ford pickup when I was 18 all by myself. I've never rely on anyone, alway made it happen myself.
I moved out when I was 16, I couldnt pack my crap fast enough that day. I was in Grade 11 and quit school and started to work then got in a car accident (seat belt saved my life). After that I moved in with a friend and finished High School. Needed 100 credits to graduate and only had 50 going into grade 12. I ended up with 101 credits, I did extra classes before school at lunch and after school to graduate while playing sports. Needless to say I worked my a$$ off but well worth it, I ended up getting a basketball scholarship!
