I curently have a MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust system, and an AFE Stage 2 set-up on my 2003. I like the performance I recieved after doing both of these mods. I also have gauges in my truck (EGT, Boost & Trans temp. ), so I am able to keep an eye on things. I want to do more mods, and I have been thinking about adding an after market intake manifold next.

Question: Is this a good mod to add? If so, which one do I go with..... Banks, ATS, or the new AFE? Maybe another brand that I'm not aware of?

Any help and / or advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks! ;)

One more mod...

Yeah right :-laf

I'm going to go with the GDP, but the AFE looks really cool as well. Just don't know if it will fit with the Pac Brake compressor.

I would do something along the lines of a BullyDog Triple Dog, or Smarty since you allready have gauges. . If you liked the performance you got from an intake and exhaust, you will need a change of underwears ASAP after feeling an elctronic upgrade.

I plan to do an electronics upgrade in the future, however, I am scared of blowin' up the motor... . and obviously the stock transmission :-laf I know this is a STUPID question, but what is the safest most reliable electronic upgrade out there? Is it even possible to choose just one?

While some will tell you that the intake horn is not worth the bang for the buck, I installed the GDP Intake Horn and am very satisifed with it. I did see a reduction in EGT's and also a faster spool up. I went with it because I am planning on installing the PacBrake and it mounts fwd of the intake horn, wanted to make sure I had the room. Also, I have the GDP 2-micron fuel filter mounted to the intake horm. It has ports for assy's as well.

I also have a Smarty, great for programming power. If I were looking for a shift-on-the-fly power adder, it would be the new Quad 2 unit, I may stack them. If you add electronics you don't have to worry about blowin' up anything, the key is using it sensibly. You probably would be real happy with either the Smarty or the Quad 2.

I can tell you from my personal experience the AFE intake manifold works.

This wk-end towing up a good size grade leaving Moreno valley 1500 rpm I only hit 950 degrees. With out the AFE air mods (intake,stg2si,cat back)it would hit 1250 same conditions.

[whiney kid] okay, OKAY, I'll get an intake!! [/ whiney kid]

I guess if we have two votes for the intake then they have to be better than the old BANKS stuff. I saw a dyno or two with lost HP on the Banks intake...
