Anyone know of a way to BOMB the passenger window switch on the driver's side to also make it one touch lowering?

Enquiring minds need to know!

They are all "one-touch". One touch to push and hold. Then let go. :p :p :-laf :-laf

Just funnin' with ya. ;)

Still beats a crank handle.

One touch down is very easy to do. One touch up has a lot more to it, with one touch up the window must be able to tell if there is something slowing or stopping the window(finger or hand). The one touch down does not have to worrry about getting stopped. More money in the long run :{

Here you go... I just did this on my '01.

Takes all of about $35. 00 and 1 hour to do.

You need to take a ride to your local Ford dealer. (keep comments to yourself) And purchase this relay... F5RZ-14B118-A.

Remove door panel on pass. door. Locate the wire that shows 12V when putting the window down. (was purple on my truck) This was in a connector close to the window motor.

Locate a wire in the harness near the switch that shows 12V with the key turned on. (this was red in my truck)

Where a wire harness connector would connect to the relay there are 4 tabs numbered 1,2,3, and 5.

1 goes to ground, I grounded this wire right to the door. 2 will go to the 12V wire you found in the harness near the switch.

Now you need to cut the wire that shows 12V when putting the window down. Tab #3 will connect to the end away from the motor, and tab 5 will connect to the motor side of that wire.

That's it...

And the beauty of this relay is that it can be mounted inside the door... so no having to run wires through the door jamb boot.

How does the window know when to stop?

The relay senses the window is down when the current draw increases, at which point the relay opens. I can hear it 'click' when the window is all the way down.

NOSPIN4ME-

Thanks for the wiring description! So to do this all from the driver's side window switch pod we would have to wire the same relay(s) there? Also, what if we still wanted the feature to stop the window partway? Just tap the switch again?

I was thinking along the lines of having a 2 position switch like for the driver's side window, but for all the windows, controlled by the driver only: 1st position is manual control and 2nd condition is "auto" one-touch lowering.

Keep the ideas coming!

Wiring the switch the way I described will provide one-touch down for the passenger window from both door switches. If you want this feature to work from the drivers switch only you will have to locate the wires coming out of the drivers door P/W switch and wire the relay accordingly.

You can wire the relay to provide one-touch up by using the wire that shows 12V when the window is being closed.

Tapping the switch will stop the window from moving.

Seems to me the relay idea is golden, but you would also need the switch like the drivers one to make it all work the same (manual down/ auto down) but then again it seems if you hooked the relay in reverse to would sense window UP too. Hmmmm something like a multi position switch but auto down/moment down/off/moment up/auto up two relays each from the drivers side control only I would think. Something to think about..... The idea is sound (UNLESS you got kids or pets then you need to think preesure switches (2-5 in/lbs) on the up for safety) This sounds like an idea for... "Super Electronics Engineer"! :-laf That or someone with lots of time on their hands to play with it. But I must admit. . I like the idea! Oo.

This will work on the drivers window too. Just need to locate the wires that show 12V when the window is switched down.

You do not need a special switch to have this work. The relay only needs to see the switch being tapped in the down position.

I have this installed in my 01 with no issues or additional parts, other than the relay, whatsoever.
