I added the EZ over a week ago with new elbow supplied with unit and only get max boost of 22:( Did I do somehting wrong or is this normal? How can I get the 30lbs. I've read about? Thanks James

I am curious to know why everyone gets such a wide range of readings? I can hit 25 or 26 and that is not WOT. I haven't maxed it out yet so I am not sure what I can hit.

Low Boost

You don't say how much boost you got before elbow? should have been at least 20 psi. If you got an increase after adding elbow, go to Search Forum and type in "boost pressure". Lots of info on checking for leaks, etc. If you got no increase after adding elbow... have not seen that situation ever discussed! Maybe someone else knows.

I had 22 psi before EZ, now 34 +/-; but that is with turnbuckle so may be different readings than yours.

Good luck.

o2 HO was 20 before elbow. now with elbow it hits 34 max. after i installed dd2s it was still the same, although i was told it would go higher. the only thing that happened when the dd2s went in was my fuel pressure dropped 1 lb.

My max boost stock was 20. I did do a search in the Search Forum, alot of vague info. Seems like everytime I go to search forum it gives me every thread with every word not neccesarily pertaining to my siuation! I'll try again though> Thanks James

I put the elbow on mine and nothin changed! I got about 20 WOT. I replaced all the booties still 20. I checked the wastegate with the air compressor it moved, but still 20. So i just left it and decided that all im getting. Then about two months I was pulling a trailer up a big hill and it let loose wow 32!!!! Now I can get 30 when ever I want. I think the wastegate was still stuck open a bit before. Take the hose off a hook air up to it not more than 35lbs and move it back and forth. Hope this helps

try searching "titles only" that usually helps.

I just installed an EZ with the elbow, with rv275's I'm hitting around 29 psi of boost.

with just the 275's I would top out at around 20-21 psi, with a DTC code of 234 for an over boost condition, (of course the ex fixed that issue).

Found alot of threads for using a turnbuckle on wastegate, happen to have one in garage so I threw it on. Took for a test drive and to my surprise no difference. :{ But one good thing did come from this. Albeit, I'm a little embarrased:eek: to admit this, I've been miss reading my gauge. I just assumed the little tick marks between 20lbs and 30lbs where in one hundredths not the actual two hundreds. So I am getting about 25 lbs of boost.

But I'm a little surprised after installing turnbuckle it didn't raise boost. ? Seems from all the post I read on this everybody saw improvement. But then again I can't rule out that I screwed up something easy like this. Getting late I'll have to look into this tomorrow. James

I'd say 25 Psi with 275's is about all you should expect. Seems like if I remember correctly thats about what I say with my truck when it had 275's. We just cant get the air to turn higher boost numbers up here in the Mile High City. :{

MY 2001 HO with the EZ on it when I had it with the DD1's hit about 30 psi.

Interesting the numbers vary so much with the same stuff.

My '98. 5 did 16-18PSI stock, and with a COMP and DD5's only 36PSI.

Upgraded to a PDR 40/18 and with a (shh, don't tell Piers ;) )Disabled wastegate, I get about 40ish+

it really is odd how EGT, and Boost numbers can really be all over the place, even on identically equppied trucks.

Temperature & altitude, ie. air density, seem to be the detirmining factors. Thicker air = more boost!

I'm coming up on my first winter as a CTD owner so have no data. Anyone notice in the past that boost increases when winter hits?

My case:

EZ & elbow w/ sotck injectors - 26psi

EZ & elbow w/ DD2's - 32 psi.

What's the difference in our cases? Well, I almost never tow, so these are EMPTY numbers, while Rusty tows almost exclusively, to his numbers are most like with his 5ver in tow.

You will always have more boost when towing than when empty.
