Took off, not all the way off the clutch yet, and Bang! :{ Truck wont move in 2wd, but in 4wd i can with binding and loud clicks 01' NV241HD 6spd... Any ideas of what this could be??

Sorry, couldn't resist.

If the rear driveshaft is still there and the whole thing is turning when you're trying to drive in 2 wd, it's the diff. It could also be the spline at the carier bearing (never seen it but it could happen). If it doesn't turn, it's the t-case.

When you try to move in 2 wd does the drivshaft turn? Does it make noise? Jack up the back and try to spin the wheels in neutral (2 wd) then in gear. The try it in 4 wd.

Reason #6,842 why I don't pull with my truck.

I wish it was the rear end, give me an excuse to get a locker. . :-laf. With the t-case in neutral and the rear end on the ground, the driveshaft wont turn. I dont really know much about the t-cases on our trucks, never had to have one apart. Sounds like a chain binding, but it looks like the housing isnt cracked. could it be a shaft broke and is binding? to me it doesnt make sense that my front axle works in 4wd, but the rear doesn't.

You need to lift the rear end "off" the ground and then see if the driveshaft turns (unless you're trying to push the truck), if it does normally then the problem is the xfer, if it doesn't then it's most likely the rear end.

There were a ton of trucks that broke on that track. The 3500 DMax made a pretzal out of his driveshaft, and they way my truck hoped for the first 80 feet, I am suprised I didnt break anything.

I am 100% sure it is the transfer case. More then likely the through shaft broke, and is not powering the rear axle. The noise is the broken shaft halves hitting against each other.

If you need a new transfer case, I would try and move up to a NP271 if you can find one.

If ya need any help, let me know.

I just did the same thing to my truck 3 weeks ago. It will more than likely be your output shaft on your transfer case. If you call transfer case express they can make you a 271 without a slip yoke. Then you just need a rear drive shaft with a slip yoke made and your front drivshaft extended. The shaft in your 241 is 1 3/8 inch and the 271 has 1 7/8 inch shaft. When you pull your rear drive shaft out you will know right away if the output shaft is broke, mine came out in my drive shaft. In all I have mine fixed for around $1800 including having the transfer case installed.

:--) $1800  hope to find out tomorrow what a rebuilt 241hd is gonna set me back. I would LIKE to upgrade to something stronger, but im getting sick spending money upgrading..... (never thought i'd say that) Im really surprised that i broke a t-case (didnt think i had the hp and tq yet) i always figured it would be a driveshaft or u-joint...
