The new found power in my 94 Ram has brought forth a problem, a bald right rear tire. Having an open rear wasn't a problem when the truck was stock, now... well, i'm sure you guys know! I'm looking for an inexpensive solution. Is there a spool available for the Dana 70? I mostly do highway driving and don't encounter too many tight turns, so I don't think a spooled rear will be a problem.

Insight??

turbonatr,
On the cars I have driven and owned with open diffs I never had problems with only one tire getting bald faster. When I did a burn outs both tires would leave rubber behind. But maybe I was lucky.
I think as long as you have the same amount of traction on both rear tires they both spin. Now if you have steering wheel turned only one tire should leave rubber.
Than again I could be dreaming.

turbonatr;
Look here. http://www.powertrax.com/ They do not have the no-slip system out for the Dana 70's yet, but fron the conversation I had with them it is on it's way. You just may have to wait a little while. Give them a call and you can get the latest date.

Keep your eyes on the classifieds. Sometimes you will see a limited slip on there. Not as good as a locker but less expensive. Besides, we ARE talking about your TOW vehicle right? #ad

Gee, I bet that with your drag racing connections, you could probably come up with an old pair of slicks, borrow some wheels...

Occasionally both rear tires will spin, but the majority of the time, it's the right rear. Quite frankly, it's getting old! Any more than 1/2 throttle from a dead stop and up in smoke the right rear goes. Bewteen the right rear tire squeeling, and the 3" straight pipe, the truck is quite the attention getter... I can grab a cop's attention from 3 blocks away. #ad

Anyway, thanks for the insight and link!!
