I'm obviously a newbie in the Diesel world. I will soon be purchasing one of the fueling or fueling/timing boxes. . The new Blue Chip Diesel A. P. B. box is definately the bargain for $499. I'm just not sure if it's too new to be "proven" My other options are the TST Powermax, and Edge Comp.

I drive an 01' Short bed, Quad Cab with an Auto. and 3. 54 gears. I presently pull a 7000 lb (when loaded) tag trailer. This truck doesn't seem to pull the trailer as well as my 96' did, therefore, I'm looking for a lil more go power.

thanks in advance

My Blue Chip FMS Premium will be here anyday and I'll give you a report. Alot of guys on here have the Comp box so that must say something. Im pretty new myself but I think all the "major" fueling boxes will probably get you about the same power, just have a little different philosophy behind them.

Get ready to build your transmission!

A couple things. The Blue Chip APB is a fueling box. It taps the pump wire on the VP44 Injector pump. Your stock automatic transmission will not be able to hold the power increase made by this box on it's highest level.

First things first... . get some gauges, then address the transmission, then add some fuel and possibly a turbo if needed.

Here's the deal

My original plan was to just get an Edge EZ, because of the transmission. In about a year, I plan to upgrade the transmission with an ATS triple lock T/C and valve body. Along with 4. 10 gears and maybe injectors, to comfortably drag a 15k gooseneck. If I buy the the new A. P. B. box, for about the same as the EZ, I'll have the option of more power later, rather than buying another box next year. I guess the key would be to act responsible with the power, as to save the transmission.

I already have Isspro pyro, boost, and transmission temp gauges. I watch them more than the speedo and fuel gauge. .

How is Edge Products with their "customer service" when puchasing a used Comp box ?? Anyone with thie experience out there ??

any more thoughts, much appreciated

thanks

Technically, I bought my box used from another TDR member. It had never been installed but had sat for a couple of months. I ran it for a couple of months before I hooked up the pump wire, when I did I didn't get all the power that I thought I should. After a day or two the fifth light started to go out. I called Edge and asked if I was covered under the warranty, they said no problem, they didn't even ask where it came from or who bought it originally. They sent me a new box, letting keep mine until it arrived. The first box was the wrong version, it came on Friday afternoon. I called them immediately and told them what happened. They shipped the correct box to me and I had it the next morning. That's awesome service in my book, plus the new box has lots more power than the original one I had.

I am 100% satisfied with the way they treated me. I was expecting some delays since I didn't buy the box originally, but they didn't care, all they cared about was that I was happy with the box.

Box or not to BOX

Craig I just checked the Blue Chip web site the "new box" A. P. B. software technology comes from years of testing. Because it uses the information derived from the FMS which has been race proven over the last 5 years, This Box is based on 3rd generation software and hardware used in the highly successful F. M. S. Premium.

call chip fisher and talk to him I am sure he can give you all the technical info on it.

I have spent about 1,000,000 on my truck and the things I have got through Blue Chip is the best. He does a GREAT job of standing behind his product as well as the rest.

I agree with you. Why spend money two or three times. It would save money to get the right upgrade right the first time. All I ever did with upgrades was to sell them for half of what I paid. OF
