Alright. I'm going Friday to see Jeff Garmon, and I'm getting a full Suncoast installed in my '96.

My final "plan" for this truck is to have a twin turbo'd daily driver that starts good, is very streetable, and most of all is reliable. I'm looking for 600hp or so when all is said and done.

So here's the question.....

I have the money right now to do the transmission and a few other smaller mods without totally draining my "truck fund" account. I don't want to do anything that I will have to take off or undo later because it won't work with my terminal goal. Should I go ahead and get some o-rings and studs and forget about more power for right now or should I do everything I can without o-rings?

If there's anything I forgot to mention, or any options I have that I didn't think about please chime in and let me know.

Thanks a lot in advance,

-R. J.

As with any engine, the 'main' engine' should be strenghtened first.

With what you say you plan on, I'd say do the transmission first, then do the head as you asked. that way, the rest of the stuff will more or less be bolt on.

I'd hate to have a set of twins on it, and THEN have to pull the head cuz I blew a head gasket.

Once the 'main' engine is good to go (head, block, etc), then you can much more easily add the power you want, knowing full well the engine and trans can handle it.

That's about what I figured I should do. I would like to have a little bit more power for now until I can make the power I want though. I guess I'll do the transmission and see what the head costs from Jeff and then see what I have left over.

Anyone know what o-ringing the head costs? Ballpark figure is all I'm after.

Thanks,

-R. J.
