Will be ordering a unit in the next few months and would like to know how you like/dislike the new auto. Would you do it agn or go manual? Hows the mileage (solo/towing)? Hows the 4 speed shifting? Can it be "manually" shifted? Whats the dash display (other than PRND321 or ?) Top speed? Etc... ... ... ... ... ...

All thoughts and opinions welcome (might get it but unsure - 6sp or auto, 6 spd or auto). Only reason to go auto is for the LONG full-time trips in a few years (shud have been this year but... new vehicle calls for more work).

PS: has anyone found the Eng Hour Meter I've seen listed as a "std" option, and ifn so where is it?

I had a '94 5spd Ford. Traded for a '95 Dodge Cummins auto/3. 54, then a '98 DC 5spd/4. 10, then an '01. 5 DC auto/3. 54, and now an '03 auto/4. 10. I towed with all of them and drove alot of city miles. I like the auto/4. 10 combo the best yet. No spring wrap-up backing the 5th wheel into the yard and the auto's I've owned have been totally trouble free with the exception of one sensor on the '01. 5 replaced under warranty. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder assembly on the 5spd at 82,000 miles. I run stock power on all my trucks. I beleave this one will be a long timer!:D

The longer the trip the more reason to go with a manual transmission in my book. The shorter trips around town is where an auto would be nice. I currently have the 6 speed but I think my next truck will be auto. I go back and forth on this. In answer to your question about the new auto, it is just now hitting the street, I don't know if anyone would have one yet but it should be soon.

SOTSU. . [not many know what that means ;) ]... didn't know you were in a wreck... hope all is well and sorry the rig gave it up for ya, but better the rig than you BTDT

good luck on your replacement and healing [if hurt]

Thanks for the info...

will be awaiting the drive report(s).

Willyslover, not even a scratch, just a "bumped" left shoulder. No black&blue marks but did get a bit of glass in clothes (not too bad due to the extra tinting). Alls well that can end well... ... ... . hope all you and yours are fine.

Those that want to know could search for SOTSU!! to find out but it would take them awhile. . so I will keep it a mystery for now ;) .
