What is the interest in the membership for a battery mount similar to this? I do not have a price currently. May be up to two weeks before I get a reply from the manufacturer?

I'm looking to mount two of these to the underside of my pickup truck bed.

Image is existing battery mount for an Optima size 34 battery.

Sometime's functional item's do look good. :)

I may ask to have a solid mounting cover with cutout's for connector's and vent's ONLY?

If you only knew what I am going to do with the truck wiring?

Using battery isolator:

Stock batteries for starter, Auxiliary batteries for everything else.

Deep discharge the auxiliary batteries :--) , I should be able to start the truck. :)

Update...

Looking at having Black Hard Coat Anodizing done to the battery mount. It will be upside-down battery mounting.

Group order will keep the price down. Oo.

Anodizing is for aluminum as paint is for steel. Hard Coat Anodizing is VERY corrosion and scratch resistent. Also electrically isolating.

I'm relocating my batteries ( actually 3 Optima blue tops) to an aluminum box I built out of 1 1/2" 6061 angle and 5052 . 100" sheet.

I'm using 2/0 welding cable and running everything to the box which is mounted under the UTE bed.

pic . . looks like all sides are covered ??... mine will be behind the Dually tires on each side and am concerned about coverage / protection to the pricey Optima's

Temperature Sensor...

Send me PM (or e-mail: -- email address removed --) if you're thinking of using this battery mount in your engine compartment? I'm not sure if the height of the battery will be an issue?

There is a temperature sensor on the bottom of the factory battery mount that would have to be factored in the design. :--)

You wouldn't want to be drilling hole's after the aluminum battery mount is hard coated. Black anodizing will be used if hard coat is excessively expensive.

Initial idea was for underbed mounting. Need input if otherwise. I will try to get optimum placement for mounting hole to match bottom section's of truck bed.

One a design is completed, there wouldn't be changes later. :(

G'day.

Another item that will keep me from over-discharging the Optima D31's.

PriorityStart! Pro-Series I would not recommend using this on the Diesel engine starter cable. Install between PDC and battery. Pro-series is for dual-battery system.

JC... after seeing what your up to and looking at the specs. . I'm still in... the D31's are a better choice than the D34 that Costco stocks for this use... do you have any idea on $$ yet ?

Schumacher has all the detail's and I'm waiting to hear back. One detail that need's to be addressed is the recess cutout of the bottom plate to match the form of the battery spiral cell's. The two row's of three spiral cell's are offset and the bottom is not molded the same as the top.

One factor that will influenced the cost is initial order quantity? I will try to get a group purchase arranged on first production run.

Where can you get the group 31's? Last I checked the Post Office had priority on these batteries and they are next to impossible to get. :(
