I have a 3 year old pair of D31A yellow top batteries in my 2001. One of the batteries has lost the "plug" or round cover off of the top. Anybody have a junk yellow top that wants to donate that plug? I checked with the dealer where I originally bought these, BUT they had the deer in the headlight stare! This is strictly for aesthetics, I notice that missing plug every time I open the hood, LOL.

TIA

You mean that plastic cover that goes over the top protecting the terminals? I can look but like most people that gets tossed before the battery is ever installed.

No. There are two covers/caps/plugs mounted flush in the top of each battery, possibly a vent or maybe just a cosmetic cover over a hole used in manufacturing? I can see something "lead" in the open hole now.

On the top of the battery there are two vents. One by the positive terminal and one by the negative terminal. But those don't have caps. Some kind of grey substance they put in there that could pop out and vent the battery in an emergency. Nothing else on the top. Unless you had a blue top then there would be two terminals for attaching accessories to that do come with rubber caps. The only other thing I can think you might be looking at is on the side of the battery. Where the side terminals are located they have each have a round plastic piece that screws into the lead terminal. Take a look at the pics on the website and see.
