engine info/history assitance

uhhhhh.....yea.....

I'm considering bying a dry van UPS type truck with a 5. 9 24V.

These are stand alone units with all computers/controls mounted as part of the power package. Can any of the electric boxes be used on these or am I limited to injectors and turbos??

I do not know about the boxes, but they might work. I would bet that the only type of boxes that would work would be boxes that only read the MAP and apply additional fuel with a tap wire (such as a TST box). I doubt that an Edge EZ would work and really doubt if any reprogramming boxes (such as the Smarty) would work.

That engine has a different ECM. If you look at it, it has two 50 pin connectors on it (ours only have one).

If you know someone at a Cummins Repair Center, that ECM can be reflashed with anywhere from about 150bHp to 305bHp. The internals should be almost identical to the standard output (235Hp) engine in the Dodge.

I believe the MAP sensor was the same on that year/model as the dodge (they changed the design on the newer late 00 and up models to look at absolute pressure on the Dodge).
