orange nylon hitch pad

Have any of you guys seen a nylon, orange in color, hitch pad that is spot welded onto the fifth wheel hitch head? I saw one the other day and just wondered where they were sold. thanks to all.

The ones I have seen, are not spot welded, they just sit on the plate. I take it the main reason for it's use is less friction, and maybe a quiter ride, not so much sqeeking.

I have been using one of those for years. It just goes on over the kingpin and is held on by friction, you do not have to grease the plate, just the kingpin itself. Works great.

The color on these is white when they are new. I wonder if the orange one the original post refered to was stained and sun baked?

I have seen some discolored to a yelowish color. All the ones that I have seen were white.

thanks for all the replies. I have located the hitch pad at Dually Depot. 32. 95 plus shipping. they are spot welded to the hitch in 6 places and open on the aft side so you can back into the fifth wheel hitch without removing anything. thanks , all.

I saw one to day Looks like a Orange life jacket, covers the ramp section and top of the hitch . They should sell plenty of them as most are not willing to get grease on them from a grease hitch . Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville KY
