Order Dates ? Help....

Ordered truck on 10-25-00. Went to D1 on 11-1-00 with a date of Nov 9,00, VIN issued. Called 800 number today (11-8-00) and was told build date was 12-7-00. Dealer showes as of today DOS date is still 11-9-00. Anyone know howe this works? Fritz's page on order status didn't help with this question. Thanks... getting impatient...

UPDATE... . TRUCK WENT KZ THIS AM. WAITING FOR SHIPMENT (ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER). . LOOKING BETTER. .

John, I don't know if this helps, but mine was built on a Monday of a week, one week before it was "supposed" to be built according to DC 800# reports I was given.
What I can tell You is that if it turns out as well as mine did Your wait will be worth it.

You have me worried now! I ordered my new 3500 with the H. O. engine and 6 spd a few days before you and I haven't heard a word about it yet. I talked to 8 Dodge dealers since I put in the order, that all claimed that there was a restriction on the ordering of the H. O. /6spd. Finally one dealer told me that they could special order for a customer but not for stock. I wish I had some confidence that my truck was actually being built before I sell my current truck. What is this 800 number that you referenced?

Let us know if you get any good info.

Havent heard anything about restrictions on HO 6 speed, but California is funy in a lot of things they do with vehicles.

Do a search for the "ETH/DEE waiting club. It will give you an idea of what we went through while waiting. Mine was ordered in early Aug. and immediately went on restriction for the DRW and the DEE options. It stayed on restrcition for about one month and then started moving. Mine was built way before the DC 1-800 line predicted. On a " average" and I say average as some waited much longer and some shorter, you can expect to receive your new truck about 8 weeks after the initial order is received by DC. Like SAMSCOV stated, it will be well worth the wait !!!!

If your dealer has a good truck allocation and seems to be a no BS dealership I would tend to believe the dealership on this one. Their information should be better than the 800 number. I would get a different story every time I called the 800 number. My dealers story was consistent, 28 days from order to delivery.

hello,

ordered my truck (see sig. ) on Oct 13, it was built by the 25th, and sat in the Deleware distribution from Nov 1 untill 9th (today).

Showed up at the dealer this afternoon! From start to finish in under 4 weeks... . I thought that was pretty amazing.

They should be prepping it now.....


My dealer is not aware of any current ETH restrictions either.

Idling the factory for a week (was it last week?) probably is not helping speed things along for those still waiting.

I called the 800# and talked to customer service. They were able to verify that a restriction (apparently on the production of the trucks) had gone into effect this Monday for the quad cab 3500 H. O. /6spd. She said that the status is updated every Monday. Now, if I can just get my VON to find out where mine really is.

Be patient friend. I have ordered 3 trucks over the years and none have come in less than 3 months. One took 6! It's worth it to get the right truck exactly the way you want it. I have the ETH 6spd with 3:55 and just love it.

I guess I should consider myself lucky - ordered ETH/DEE on Sep 9 (a Saturday) and took delivery on Oct 14 (also a Saturday): 5 weeks.

Beware DC's status codes: mine went from D1 "scheduled to be built" on Oct 2 to SHIPPED on Oct 3. Technically, they were right, I guess - it appears to have been built at 23:30 on Oct 2.
