is it easier to use a hole saw for the bed OR just use a jigsaw?

Are their measurements close? I want it to go smoothly, would welcome sugesstions from those who have done it.

the holesaw is a worthwhile $30. it makes the job easier and gives better results.

the measurements were right on for me. the old adage "measure 10 times and cut once" definitely applies here.

it took me less than 2 hours from start to finish. take the spare tire down for better access.

good luck!

I used a saber saw with good results. As was said measure carefully to get the center point and use a drawing compass for the circle. I think the key is to keep adjusting the saw as it cuts.

I think this hitch is an excellent choice.

I used the hole saw, and it did a great job. Found one in stock at Sears Hardware, in case you have to chase one down. B&W's measurements were spot on the money.

Be sure to get all the metal chips out of the bed immediately after cutting the hole. Otherwise, they will rust within a day or two and stain the paint on the bed floor (glad I had mine Line-Xed after installing the hitch).
