Well, I broke down last Monday and ordered my Edge Juice with Attitude for my 99. Been looking to get one for a while and decided to order it so I could get the rebate they had going on.

Any advice or tips on the install? And anything special I should know about it when I get it going? A couple of people have told me that I'll probably need a new lift pump seeing as mine is still the stocker at almost 175,000. I have been reading up on them a bit anyways in case mine ever quit and been looking at the FASS replacement. Would this be a good option to go with? One of the main reasons I went with the juice was because I don't have any gauges and wanted that feautre for sure mostly to watch fuel pressure actually.

And on the install of the EGT pyrometer; what is the best way to do that? Is it possible to drill and tap it safely without removing the exhaust manifold? Or would pieces get into the turbo? Thanks for any help.

When I installed mine I decided to wait on hooking up the Turbo Timer. After the install there was no power to the Attitude, found out the Turbo Timer fuse hookup was required for everything else to work.

In regards to the EGT probe, I unbolted the turbo from the manifold and stuck a piece of cardboard between the two to stop any chips from getting in the turbo. I vacuumed the hole while drilling then greased the tap. After tapping I again vacuumed out the hole and stuck a stick magnet in to clean out the manifold.

You can drill and tap the manifold without removeing anything. Just use a shop vac beside the drill and grease the drill and tap. Use a small magnet in the hole when you are done. Everything will be fine. Have fun with the Juice. You will spend the first day trying to wipe the smile off. Randy:D

Juice is a great box. you will want fueling upgrades and look at some trans upgrades (VB and torque converter)... especially if you are running over lvl 3

If the juice taps the VP-44 wire like the comp, use extreme caution in identifying the correct wire as there are four wires and use caution in the actual tapping process. You may only have one shot.

Just installed the Edge J/A in my new 2007. 5 6. 7 and "Wow I love it. I did tape the EGR probe in with out removing anything, turbo time works great and like being able to monitor the vitals. Also had great success with the Edge J/A on my 01 F250 no complaints.

Don't sweat the EGT probe too much. Do yourself a favor and get both the drill bits in the manual and a GOOD tap. My tap was a chinese pos and it took forever, then I had to go buy a good one to fix the hole anyway. The manifold turns to Kryptonite after all the heat/cool cycles and is very, very hard. As for the turbo, try to keep the hole clean and grease the tap. I cleaned my tap 3 or 4 times and regreased it each time. Then I vacuumed the hole out. Realistically though, the turbo will swallow and blow out anything you throw down in the hole that is smaller than a pencil eraser. Pretty difficult to hurt the turbo with the small shavings you will make.

Be sure you have the correct end for the MAP sensor. My truck is an 02 and the wires are different than an 01.

Put the EGT probe in the rear-most half of the turbo inlet. I've read that the rear of the engine runs hotter. I didn't and now I always wonder a little...

The rest of the install is pretty easy. Watch the fuse taps though. As for tapping the pump wire, It was pretty easy, but be careful and follow the directions.

If you have an HY35 turbo, you will hit 1350 deg EGT almost instantly on anything higher than level 3. I have a new turbo on the way as we speak. The HY just can't cut it for the EGT's as soon as you load it up heavy or put it on level 4 or 5.

Have fun. BTW, you probably already run low fuel pressure unless you have a guage...

I accidentally tapped the wrong wire and it had less power and smoked more. I ran it for 2k miles and then switched it after calling tech support to find out why my Comp had so much more power than my Juice. Everyone makes mistakes.
