Gooseneck hitch on a used truck a bad sign?

Since I am still waiting for my truck I was on the comuter looking for parts for my truck when I found TDR. When I ran across this site and I just had to sign up. I just signed up yesterday and thought I would tell alittle about myself. I ordered my truck 1-14-04 and am still waiting but it should be comming soon. I ordered a 2500 quad cab, long bed, SLT 2WD with toupe leather in bright metallic silver. It will have the Cummins 600 (What else), auto 48RE trans, 4. 10 posi traction rear axle, light and securtiy groups, rear window defrost, bodyside moldings, clearance and fog lamps, engine block heater, tow hooks, and tow group.



After ordering the truck I went right to the parts department the same day and got the mud flaps, floor mats, door edge guards,and wood trim packages. I also have speakers and a boost guage waiting. Now all I need is the Ram.



This truck is to be my daily ride and will probably never tow anything in its life. I got this baby to be a prissy city truck. I know I nuts but what can I say? I am in my own little world and they like me here. Anyway since this is my first truck and first diesel if anyone has any tips for me or wants to say hi please respond. Buy the way I payed $35,000 out the door for it with new plates and everything. Think it was a good deal.

I'll admit, you have an interesting use for a CTD, but it's a free country. I got a John Deere 335 to mow a three quarter acre yard, even though that model was marketed to people with 2½ acres to mow!

For $35k I can buy a 12v and put 10,000 worth of BOMBS to it, beat most V-8 muscle cars in the 1/4, AND put 15,000 back into my pocket. But thas just me.

2004. 5 I think is the designation for those that have the 600. I like my 3. 54 gear. If you add a hundred ponies you might want a taller gear too.



The Common Rail type, that you will be getting, should be fully capable of HIGH-HP eventually. Right now they're working of some fuel pressure issues (for the top end of the loud scale).



The old crap has been pretty well sorted. Some guys get over 800HP and others turn over 6000 RPMs. I'm playing with about 350 and 450.



Oh, and 600-- My first BOMB took the 2000 truck from 210/454 to 343/800. $500 well spent!



Gauges--you mentioned BOOST. EGT-exhaust gas temp- is the most important one. Must have those two. More is better. ;)
 
I got my truck!!! I got to say it is beautiful. It was delivered 3-11-04 and well worth the wait. I saved another $2,000 by going with D plates. Very nice indeed! Six days later and I have 270 miles on it. Must say I am impressed with the turning radius of the truck. I drive GM Sierra pickups at work and they steer like a battleship. Even my mother likes driving it and she is not a truck person. It rides so nice it is easy to forget it is a truck. The 600 really gets this thing moving. I am having a hard time not beating on it during break in. I have got to give dodge credit on this truck. Good Job!

Congrats. I yours went by train. I ordered 3 days after you, and mine was JUST Monday put on a ship from Mexico, after being built on 2-18. I won't see mine for another 3-4 weeks.
